At this point, no one thinks the Detroit Pistons will even come close to the playoffs this season.
The team was in bad shape even before they lost Cade Cunningham for the rest of the year but his absence has only lowered their chances.
Their 15-47 record confirms just how poorly they are performing.

But there are still some exciting aspects about the Pistons, things that fans should be optimistic about.
One of them is newcomer James Wiseman.
Wiseman scored 23 points and 7 rebounds on 81% from the field in 26 minutes during his team’s loss to the Charlotte Hornets on Monday night.
Wiseman tied with Hamidou Diallo for the highest point total for the Pistons.
This is not the first strong performance from Wiseman since moving to the Motor City.
During his four games with the Pistons, Wiseman has averaged 13 points and 8 rebounds.
That’s much better than what he was doing with the Golden State Warriors for the first part of the season: he produced 6.9 points and 3.5 rebounds during his time with the reigning champions.
There were many people who thought that a change of scenery could be just what Wiseman needed.
The former first-round draft pick started his career strongly with the Warriors, putting up 11.5 points a game during his rookie season.
He is now doing better than that during his short stint with the Pistons.
The rest of the season will not hold many great moments for Detroit which means that followers of the team will be looking forward to what comes next season and beyond.
Based on what we have seen so far, Wiseman might be a huge part of that future.
