The 2023-24 NBA season hasn’t just been bad for the Detroit Pistons, it’s been historically bad.
With a 3-31 record, they are easily the worst team in the league and one of the worst teams in history.
There is definite talent on the roster but it hasn’t translated into many wins.
Pistons star Cade Cunningham spoke with Adrian Wojnarowski on The Woj Pod and talked about the terrible season and the impact it’s had on him.
“This has been one of the most humbling experiences for me in my life,” Cunningham said.
He also said “There’s still a lot of things to learn, for me and the whole team” and admitted that there is a ton of work to do.

Few people expected big things from the Pistons when the season started.
But even fewer people expected the trainwreck that waited for Detroit.
They now hold the record for the most consecutive losses in a single season and many analysts don’t think they’ll win more than six games for the entirety of the season.
Ironically, this is all happening as Cunningham is having his best season yet.
He is averaging 23.2 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 7.5 assists per game and has had multiple breakout performances despite his team consistently failing.
After three years in the league, the former top draft pick thought this could be the season his Pistons turned things around, but he was wrong.
Instead, this season has been a huge wake-up call of just how far the team still has to go.
Cunningham is humbled by the troubles the Pistons have experienced but it also sounds like he is motivated to grow.
Cunningham and millions of Pistons fans hope that this season is a big turning point for the team.
