The Detroit Pistons are truly the worst team in the NBA during the 2023-24 season.
Previously, the Pistons tied the Philadelphia 76ers for losing the most number of consecutive games during a season, with 28 straight losses to their name.
Although the Pistons snapped that losing streak, they are now on a five-game losing streak as the team’s struggles refuse to vanish.
Speaking of which, the Detroit Pistons once again found themselves on the wrong side of NBA history following their historic loss against the Sacramento Kings.
The Pistons became the first team in NBA history to lose a game by more than 18 points, despite having a lead of more than 18 points in any given quarter during the matchup, as revealed via Legion Hoops on Twitter.

The final score of the game was 131-110 in favor of the Sacramento Kings.
While many expected the Pistons to lose without their young stud, Cade Cunningham, not many thought that the franchise would be on the wrong side of history again.
Following the loss, the Pistons remain the 15th seed in the Eastern Conference as they sport a league-worst 3-34 record.
Although the Pistons are currently going through a rebuilding phase and they are bound to be an underwhelming team for a few years, this season the organization has broken several records to potentially become the worst team in the history of the league.
There is a genuine chance that the Pistons will end up breaking the 1972-73 Philadelphia 76ers’ 9-73 record to become the worst team in NBA history in an 82-game season.
