As a society, we face complex issues that require the viewpoints of many individuals. Race, gender, geography, beliefs, and generation all affect someone’s point of view. Reflecting these viewpoints in our reporting leads to a better-informed community. We seek diversity in our reporting and management staff.
Ethics Policy
The Cold Wire Journalists must not accept any gifts, but are not limited to lodging or travel accommodations, from the reporting of their subjects.
Journalists must clearly cite and obtain information from original sources whenever possible.
The Cold Wire’s mission as the Society of Professional Journalists’ ethics code suggests, is to seek the truth and report it.
Journalists should report in the most transparent and clear and precise way possible without favor or fear.
Journalists should avoid reporting on topics in which they have a conflict of interest. If it is unavoidable for the Journalist to cover the topic, The Cold Wire will disclose the conflict in the article.
