The Detroit Pistons have remained in the headlines during the 2023-24 NBA season but for all the wrong reasons.
The franchise etched it’s name in NBA history after tying the Philadelphia 76ers for the longest losing streak in league history.
Although the Pistons snapped that losing streak and started to win a few games, they are undoubtedly in contention for being the worst team in the NBA alongside the Washington Wizards.
Despite having an underwhelming performance this season, the Pistons are apparently adding a veteran player to the roster.
According to Adrian Wojnarowski on Twitter, the Pistons have welcomed former New York Knicks player Taj Gibson on a 10-day deal.

The Detroit Pistons have no hopes of reaching the 2024 playoffs, but it is not stopping them from adding veteran presence to their roster.
Considering Taj Gibson has been in the NBA for more than a decade, he can be an excellent leader for the young Pistons team.
However, Gibson will start the new chapter in his career on a 10-day deal and there is a very real chance that the Pistons do not extend his contract.
Prior to signing with the Pistons, Gibson was a member of the New York Knicks, where he played 16 games for the team.
Considering he played just 10.3 minutes on average, it’s no surprise that he contributed just 1.0 points, 1.8 rebounds, and 0.6 assists per game for the Knicks.
The primary reason behind his departure from the team was his abysmal 30.4% shooting from the floor, which the Pistons will hope he can improve.
