The most disappointing team in the NBA so far during the 2023-24 campaign is, without a doubt, the Detroit Pistons, who haven’t been able to put it together, even under new head coach Monty Williams.
At one point during this season, the Pistons had lost 28 straight games.
At that point in time, the season was officially lost, with the team going through the motions to get through the season without any costly injuries and potentially another high pick in the NBA Draft.
As the Pistons continue to limp through the season, the team has been mentioned in a few trade rumors, with the most recent being connected to Zach LaVine of the Chicago Bulls.
With LaVine’s season now over due to injury, those rumors will come to an end, but now a new one has surfaced, with Killian Hayes wanting to leave the team, according to the Detroit Free Press via NBA Central.
“Killian Hayes’ camp, per a source, would prefer the fourth-year point guard land with a new team. The Pistons seem to agree,” according to the Detroit Free Press.

With the Pistons seemingly going nowhere, even with one of the NBA’s highest-paid coaches leading the way, Hayes has had enough of Detroit and would like to move on, and no one can blame him at this point in time.
After having his best season in the league last year, Hayes has regressed a bit this season, averaging 6.9 points, 4.8 assists, and 2.8 rebounds per game while shooting 41.3% from the floor.
Although Hayes is a talented young player, it is uncertain what kind of attention he’ll draw on the trade market, as he’s not exactly a game-changer.
