One team that has been the surprise of the NBA is the Sacramento Kings.
The Kings have not been good in years, and many people did not expect that to change.
Sacramento has not had a 40+ win season since 2005-06.
Which was also the last time that the Kings made the playoffs.
But, they are well on pace to get there this season.
One reason for their success this season has been a change at head coach.
Mike Brown came over to Sacramento from the Golden State Warriors and he has his team playing very well.
Their current five-game win streak has helped vault the Kings into third place in the Western Conference.
The Kings are now the 3 seed in the West.

Some of the top players on the Kings are De’Aaron Fox, Domantas Sabonis, and Kevin Huerter.
Fox is their leading scorer averaging 24.0 points per game, while Sabonis has been their most impactful player.
After acquiring Sabonis from the Indiana Pacers last season, he has been marvelous in Sacramento.
He has 18.9 points, 12.6 rebounds, and 7.1 assists per game, plus he has already recorded four triple-doubles this season.
Lastly, the Kings have a great three-point shooter in Huerter who is averaging 15.7 points and is shooting 41.6% from three.
So there are a bunch of quality players in place that can help get this Kings team back to the playoffs.
But, at the end of the day the Kings are far too inexperienced to be legitimate contenders.
While they are playing great right now and should be a playoff team, they will not be able to compete with the best in the West for a series.
It will be interesting to see the Kings back in the playoffs, but their winning of a series seems unlikely.
