The Sacramento Kings have an unwanted record for the longest NBA playoff drought, which lasted from 2006 to 2023.
However, the Kings finally have a talented roster capable of doing great things come playoff time.
Last season, the Kings almost defeated the Golden State Warriors in the first round of the playoffs.
While the Kings’ run was a team effort featuring Mike Brown and multiple talented players, De’Aaron Fox was undoubtedly the star of the team.
Ever since getting drafted into the NBA as the fifth overall pick in the 2017 draft, Fox has evolved his game.
But what is Fox’s ceiling in the NBA?
Well, former NBA player Sebastian Telfair believes Fox is among the few players in the league who do not have a ceiling right now, via “All the Smoke.”
“He’s somebody that’s taking the steps, I see no ceiling right now,” Telfair said.
While Fox has been a terrific player since his rookie year, he truly took a leap as a star last season.
Fox earned the first NBA All-Star selection of his career amid other accolades.
Fox has seemingly further improved his game this season, but he somehow failed to make the NBA All-Star Game this season for the Western Conference team.
Despite the snub, Telfair believes that Fox is continuing to take new leaps in his NBA career.
To put things into perspective, Fox is currently averaging 27.0 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 5.6 assists per game for the Kings this season.
Apart from that, Fox has also improved his presence on the defensive end of the floor.
All things considered, it’s no surprise that the Kings are the sixth seed in the West with a 38-27 record.
