Sacramento Kings coach Mike Brown has been all over the NBA news lately, but not for the best reasons.
The veteran coach received a $50,000 fine after bursting out on the sidelines and getting ejected from their Sunday night clash with the Milwaukee Bucks.
Brown was livid at the officials and literally had to be held back by SG Malik Monk after he burst out after a call during the fourth quarter.
Then, in his press conference, the reigning NBA Coach of the Year doubled down on the issue, even bringing his own laptop to analyze some plays, criticize the referees, and debate with reporters about his ejection, which is what ultimately cost him that much money.
That’s why, following the loss to the Phoenix Suns, he simply claimed that one had to accept his fate, and he also apologized to Pat Connaughton for accidentally bumping into him, as well as with Bucks coach Adrian Griffin and refs David Guthrie and Brian Forte (Via Duane Rankin).
“You just accept your fate,” Browns said.

The NBA knows the referees make mistakes more often than not, and with all the fans constantly criticizing them, the last thing they need is a coach also speaking his mind and exposing them, so there’s no wonder why they handed him such a hefty fine.
The fine was allegedly for ‘aggressively pursuing a game official during live play and publically criticizing a game official.’
To make it even funnier, the coach told reporters that he had to cancel his family trip to Lake Tahoe because of the fine, unless the Ritz-Carlton agreed to give him a discount.
