The Sacramento Kings finally ended their playoff drought last season, which spanned 16 seasons, making it the longest in the history of the NBA.
However, there were many who believed that the Kings simply had a fluke season.
Keeping that in mind, the Kings are seemingly playing with a chip on their shoulders to prove their critics wrong this season.
With that said, the Kings are playing an amazing brand of basketball in the 2023-24 NBA season, and Domantas Sabonis has contributed a lot to that success.
Speaking of Sabonis, he finished the Kings’ recent game against the Washington Wizards with a triple-double, and dedicated that performance to his father on his birthday, via the Kings’ official Twitter handle.
“It’s my dad’s birthday… So hopefully a win and a triple-double counts,” Sabonis said.

The Kings registered a comfortable 143-131 win over the Wizards in a high-scoring matchup.
Sabonis played a crucial role in the win, as he finished the night with 28 points, 13 rebounds, and 12 assists to his name.
Following the impressive performance, Sabonis is now averaging 18.9 points, 12.3 rebounds, and 7.3 assists per game for the Kings this season.
As for the team, they have now improved their record to 16-9 and climbed to the fourth seed in the Western Conference this season.
The Kings have attained a solid 7-3 record over the last 10 games, on top of being on a three-game winning streak.
Considering the way that the Kings are playing this season, it won’t be a surprise if they end up finishing the season as one of the top four seeds in the Western Conference.
