After surprising the NBA last season by finishing third in the Western Conference, the Sacramento Kings have started this season 8-4, which puts them fourth in the West right now.
As they did last year, they have a very potent roster led by All-Stars De’Aaron Fox and Domantas Sabonis, and their defense, which was rather poor during the 2022-23 campaign, seems to have improved at least somewhat.
But the Kings aren’t championship contenders, and as a result, according to Shams Charania, they will be active on the trade market while showing a particular interest in Pascal Siakam, OG Anunoby, and perhaps even Zach LaVine, per NBACentral.

Siakam would give the Kings a proven third scoring option, and perhaps he would take precedence over Sabonis and become their second scoring option.
The 6-foot-8, 230-pound power forward is averaging 19.4 points a game this year, and last year he put up a career-high 24.2 points per contest.
Anunoby, his teammate on the Toronto Raptors, is a proven two-way wing who can score about 15 points a game, hit from 3-point range, and help lock down opposing wings on the defensive end.
The Raptors seem to be at a crossroads, and with Siakam in the final year of his contract, they may be inclined to move him and get something in return rather than pay him on a new contract they may not be able or willing to afford.
LaVine, a high-scoring, high-flying wing for the Chicago Bulls, has been linked to a number of teams in recent days, and rumor has it the Bulls may be ready to hit the reset button and trade a number of their best players.
He could team with Fox to give Sacramento one of the NBA’s best and most explosive backcourts.
