It’s been sixteen years since the Sacramento Kings last made the playoffs.
Those iconic teams with Mike Bibby, Chris Webber, and Peja Stojakovic are nothing but a distant memory at this point, with some young fans not even being born the last time they reached the postseason.
The Kings have been bottom-feeders for the most part ever since.
A never-stopping revolving door of coaches, poor management, terrible scouting, and an overall feeling of despair had kept this organization in the shadows for way too long.
That’s why it’s been such a joy to see Mike Brown‘s team finally turn things around and bring back hope to the Golden 1 Center, with fans selling out the arena again night in and night out.
That culture change was evident during Monday’s night blowout win over the Memphis Grizzlies.
Despite being up for most of the game, the players kept playing hard until the very last second, forcing deflections, running up and down the court, and getting the crowd off their seats in every fast break.
Sacramento is electric.
The Kings are electric.

The young Kings drew mixed reviews ahead of the season, with most people calling the front office out for trading away Tyrese Haliburton last season.
But that Domantas Sabonis–De’Aaron Fox combination has reminded us of the Webber-Bibby era way too many times this season, and playoff basketball should be back in Sac Town once and for all.
God knows these fans have gone through more than enough already, so props to them for staying loyal to their team through thick and thin.
