Trae Young Makes His Top Priority Crystal Clear

Some people – mostly New York Knicks fans – talk trash about Trae Young of the Atlanta Hawks but you can’t ignore a couple of things: he has a lot of talent and a lot of heart.

That was on full display the other night when he made one lucky fan’s night.

What I do it for!

Before the game against the Indiana Pacers, Young took a few seconds to sign the shirt of a young fan waiting in to watch him play.

Video of the moment made the rounds online and Young himself retweeted it, saying: “What I do it for!”

Young isn’t against making some NBA fans unhappy but he’s also insistent on doing the right thing for his followers.

Postseason Hopes

Currently, the Hawks are sitting at the tenth spot in the East, with a record of 38-37.

That’s not a stellar record, obviously, but it’s better than earlier in the year when the Hawks were struggling even more.

They have certainly found their footing more but it may be too little, too late.

Right now, they will participate in the play-in tournament with the hope of beating their competition and securing the eighth seed in the East.

If they are going to tackle that task and take down their opponent, they’ll need Young to keep playing as he has been.

The player is averaging 28 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 9.6 assists a game.

Over the last five games, he had an average of 26.8 points, 3 rebounds, and 11.6 assists a game.

The Hawks are performing far worse than they were last year when they ended up being something of a Cinderella story in the playoffs.

Their hopes to turn it around aren’t dead for this postseason but they’ll need to step it up a notch or two.
