Few things make Trae Young of the Atlanta Hawks happier than beating the New York Knicks.

Over the last couple of seasons, Young has become a villain to the crowds at Madison Square Garden – and he loves every second of it.

So far, he’s had every reason to enjoy the notoriety: he consistently beats New York.

And now he’s got another reason to smile.

Young and his Hawks have eliminated the Knicks from the playoffs for the second year in a row.

You can practically hear Young chuckling to himself right now.

Ice Cold

Last season’s postseason was a rough one for the Knicks.

They had a great season, their best in years, but things got a lot rougher when they entered the playoffs.

And then they went toe-to-toe with the Hawks, who were experiencing something of a Cinderella story last season.

In the end, the Hawks put the Knicks away and put an end to their Finals hopes.

The crowds booed and jeered Young, who was known to dance on the floor, rub his shoulders dramatically to indicate how “ice cold” he was, and openly encourage the booing.

He was loving the hate.

This year, things were a lot worse for the Knicks.

New York struggled all year and are currently out of contention.

The Hawks have had a difficult year too, their Cinderella story has definitely come to an end.

But right now the Hawks are the tenth seed in the East, just one spot ahead of the eliminated Knicks.

Therefore, it’s the Hawks who have pushed the Knicks out of the playoffs yet again.

Young better be ready to hear more boos in New York next season.
