The Sacramento Kings finally made the playoffs again last season.
That put an end to a shockingly long postseason drought that stretched back nearly 20 years.
Although the Kings weren’t able to push through the first round, head coach Mike Brown thinks they are just getting started.
“I believe our guys are ready for it. I’m more excited about having our guys to be able to run it back and give them the opportunity to grow as a nucleus than anything else,” he said, according to Hoops Rumors, via NBAWire on Twitter.

Although the team got shut down by the Golden State Warriors in the playoffs, there is still much to be happy about with the Kings.
As Brown mentioned, there is a nucleus or core that is strong – and can still grow.
No matter your team affiliation, it was hard to not root for the Kings in 2022-23.
There were multiple talented players who gave fans something to cheer for.
Players like Kevin Huerter, Malik Monk, Domantas Sabonis, and Harrison Barnes helped the team secure the third seed in the West, their best standing in ages.
But it was De’Aaron Fox who was the centerpiece of it all, averaging 25 points and 6.1 assists a night.
Of course, Brown was also a valuable part of the team.
In his first year, he took them from out of playoff contention to their first postseason since 2005-06.
The job isn’t remotely close to being done now.
They have to build upon the success they found and prove that they’re not just a flash in the pan.
Brown believes the Kings have all the pieces they need for great success.
Therefore, you can expect to see an approach in 2023-24 that is a lot like their approach from 2022-23.
