Mike Brown, the head coach of the Sacramento Kings, has had a tremendous season.
He guided his team to the third-best record in the Western Conference and their first playoff berth since 2006, greatly surpassing the expectations of most.
Even better, his Kings now hold a 2-0 series lead over the defending NBA champion Golden State Warriors in the first round of the playoffs.
Brown has gone through quite an odyssey over the years, and he has been extremely lucky to coach some of the game’s greatest players, as a collage shared by Brett Usher shows.

Brown started his coaching career as an assistant with the Washington Wizards in the late 1990s, then he joined the San Antonio Spurs as an assistant for the 2000-01 season, where he won a world title two years later.
That gig gave him the opportunity to work with Hall of Famer Tim Duncan, who many consider the greatest power forward ever.
Brown then coached the Cleveland Cavaliers for five seasons starting with the 2005-06 campaign, allowing him to coach LeBron James, and he got them to the 2007 NBA Finals despite fielding an underwhelming supporting cast around James.
He was then hired to be the head coach of the Los Angeles Lakers for the 2011-12 season, which allowed him to coach another all-time great in Kobe Bryant.
After joining the Warriors as an assistant under Steve Kerr for the 2016-17 campaign, Brown won three more rings while working with Stephen Curry and Kevin Durant.
Not only has he been extremely lucky, but he has grown immensely as a coach over the years, especially on the offensive end, where Sacramento led the NBA in scoring during the regular season with 120.7 points per game.
