The New Orleans Pelicans drafted Zion Williamson using the No. 1 overall pick in the 2019 NBA Draft in hopes of finding a franchise superstar.
Although Williamson entered the NBA as the consensus first-overall pick, he has consistently faced flak from fans due to his inability to stay healthy during his career.
However, Williamson has seemingly found a way to stay fit, as he has already played 51 games in the 2023-24 NBA season.
Despite putting up good numbers, Williamson missed out on earning the third NBA All-Star selection of his career.
Keeping that in mind, Williamson recently dropped a nugget about his potential participation in the NBA Slam Dunk Contest via Clutchpoints on Twitter.
“If I’m in the All-Star Game, I’ll do the Dunk Contest. But if I’m not, I’m not doing it,” Williamson said.

Williamson is regarded as one of the most athletic players in the NBA right now.
Evidently, fans want to see his athletic prowess tested during the iconic Slam Dunk contest.
In fact, it could be a good way to rekindle the fan’s interest in the Dunk contest.
After all, Williamson has a huge fanbase around the globe.
However, Williamson has made it clear that he will participate in the NBA Slam Dunk contest only if he earns the chance to play in the NBA All-Star game.
This season, Williamson has averaged 22.0 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 5.2 assist per game for the Pelicans in 51 appearances.
