The New Orleans Pelicans have finally taken a leap this season.
With 16 games left to be played in the regular season, the Pelicans currently have a 40-26 record.
In fact, they are the fifth seed in the Western Conference, as they look to finish the season on a high note.
A key reason behind the rise of the Pelicans this season is Zion Williamson’s consistency.
Williamson had a terrific performance against the Los Angeles Clippers, leading the Pelicans to a solid 112-104 win.
Pelicans head coach Willie Green was understandably impressed by Williamson’s performance and praised the 2x NBA All-Star.
“He wants to be coached, he wants to be the best that he can possibly be,” Green said.
"It's actually truly a joy to be around [Zion]. He wants to be coached, he wants to the best that he can possibly be…"

The NBA is full of talented basketball players, but one thing that separates the good players from the best is their eagerness to constantly improve.
Williamson finished the night with 34 points, 7 rebounds, and 4 assists.
The 23-year-old is averaging 22.5 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 5.1 assists per game for the Pelicans this season.
With the regular season entering its final stretch, it’s a good sign that Williamson is healthy and ready to lead the team into the playoffs.
The Pelicans missed the playoffs last season after earning a spot in the Play-In Tournament.
