The Tampa Bay Buccaneers season couldn’t have ended differently.
From the very first day of the offseason, the Bucs were perhaps the most drama-filled team in the NFL, which is a lot to say.
Tom Brady‘s retirement and comeback, Bruce Arians’ resignation, the Rob Gronkowski saga, some big injuries, and everything going on with Brady’s marriage paved the way for a very complicated season at Raymond James Stadium.
So, all things considered, it wasn’t shocking to see them drop the ball against the Dallas Cowboys in the Wild Card round.
If anything, the only reason they made the playoffs with a losing record is that they won the league’s worst division.
But more than that, it was a very emotional season for Brady.
People scrutinized his private life more than ever, talking about his marriage and how his decision to come back may have put an end to it.
That’s why he took some time to reflect on the season and thanked the media for putting in the work throughout the campaign, stating that he knows it’s often as hard for them as it is for the players.
“I just want to say thank you guys for everything this year,” Brady said. “I really appreciate all your effort. And I know it’s hard for you guys, too. It’s hard for us players to make it through, and you guys got a tough job. And I appreciate all that you guys do to cover us and everyone who watches and [is] a big fan of the sport.”

While that’s quite noble, the timing is also quite suspicious.
Brady is set to become a free agent, and there’s been plenty of speculation about his future and whether he’ll decide to retire again, this time for good.
The legendary QB already stated that he’s going to take things one day at a time and won’t rush to make a decision this time, so don’t expect to hear from him in a while.
