It has been a pretty successful offseason in Tampa Bay so far, as the Buccaneers have used most of their resources to take care of two of their most prominent guys in receiver Mike Evans and quarterback Baker Mayfield.
While the Bucs were able to bring back their two highest-profile players, they haven’t done much else and only have about $3.5 million in cap space to work with at the moment.
However, they are still working to add to the roster, and according to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, they will be hosting veteran cornerback Tavierre Thomas for a visit.
Free agent corner Tavierre Thomas, who recently visited the #Lions, also plans a meeting with the #Bucs, per source. Six-year vet spent the last three seasons with Houston.

Thomas recently visited with the Detroit Lions and is planning a Bucs meeting as well after spending the last three seasons with the Houston Texans.
Thomas is 28 years old and put up 51 tackles in nine games for the Texans last year.
The six-year veteran has proven to be a consistent physical threat in the passing game, with a career-high 86 tackles in 2021, but Thomas has just two career interceptions in six seasons.
He’d be a reliable depth option for the Bucs, who have also brought in Bryce Hall to play corner on a one-year deal this offseason.
Tampa gave up the fourth-most passing yards in the NFL last season despite being seventh in points allowed.
That bend-but-don’t-break mentality can sometimes be a fluke in the NFL, so the Bucs must reload on defense.
Tampa’s other big move so far this offseason was bringing in safety Jordan Whitehead on a two-year deal, another defensive back they took from New York.
