It’s still shocking that Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady announced his retirement after a dominant season.
Yes, it’s possible that it was hard for him to deal with their heartbreaking loss to the Los Angeles Rams at home during the 2021 Divisional Round.
But there are no signs of him slowing down, be it in the regular season or the playoffs.
He nearly led the Buccaneers to another comeback after being down 27-3.
Likewise, he led the league in passing yards (5,316) and touchdowns (43) last season.
Those are numbers that a 44-year-old individual shouldn’t be able to achieve.
However, Brady continues to defy odds as he establishes more records.
Perhaps he needed the 40-day retirement to decide what he really wants.
Eventually, he announced his return for a 23rd NFL season.
The Buccaneers turned from duds to contenders the moment he confirmed his return.
It is throws like this one that will make Tampa Bay one of the favorites for Super Bowl LVII.

The Buccaneers’ official Twitter account shared a video of Brady participating in practice.
Wearing a creamsicle-colored jersey, the 44-year-old play-caller made a quick drop before hitting Mike Evans for a touchdown.
Evans then celebrated with a dunk on the goal post.
Buccaneers Ready For Another Push
The memory of losing to the Rams is still fresh in their minds.
Worst yet, their conquerors eventually became Super Bowl LVI champions.
That could have been them if they had a sense of urgency to compete earlier.
But that’s in the past and the Brady will look forward to another grind.
This time, he wants payback by hopefully defeating the Rams in the playoffs.
More importantly, Brady wants his eighth Super Bowl victory.
