Fans of the Charlotte Hornets were beyond nervous the other night when LaMelo Ball went down during a preseason game.
After seemingly injuring his ankle, Ball left the match and didn’t return.
The team said that Ball would undergo an MRI and the results would indicate what was next for the star guard.

The team has now revealed that Ball has been diagnosed with a Grade 2 left ankle sprain.
This means that he is expected to miss time at the start of the regular season next week, although expectations are that he won’t be out for too long.
But the loss of Ball already has some Hornets fans talking about what the team should do.
Missing Ball
There is no doubt that Ball is the most important part of the Hornets.
Without him, the team will have a very hard time securing many wins.
With so much on the line, some people feel that the Hornets should just throw in the towel for this season before it even begins.
If Ball is hurt, why not just tank for the whole year in hopes of getting a great position in next year’s draft?
Fans are hopeful that a tanked season could lead to the acquisition of a great rookie, perhaps future superstar Victor Wembanyama.
However, it’s unlikely that the team will go along with this plan – once Ball is back, they will fight hard to make the playoffs for the first time in years.
Ball has been a terrific player since entering the league but he hasn’t been immune to injuries.
Many are nervous that this could be just one of a few injuries he encounters this year.
