The Miami Heat have been trying to move Kyle Lowry for some time now.
The former NBA champion’s play has left a lot to be desired in South Beach, up to the point where they simply decided to move on from him and demote him to the second unit.
That’s why it’s not much of a surprise to see that they were aggressively trying to move him before the trade deadline.
Now, Shams Charania of The Athletic reveals that the Heat are close to sending him to the Charlotte Hornets with draft compensation that includes a first-round pick to land Terry Rozier.

Rozier was one of the hottest names in trade talks over the past couple of weeks, as he’s been balling out for the struggling Hornets, posting big scoring numbers as he pursues a new deal.
He can start or come off the bench and play on and off the ball, and while he’s never been much of a defender, coach Erik Spoelstra has always been a master at hiding his players’ defensive flaws with his schemes.
Rozier can give the Heat a much-needed scoring punch and another bona fide bucket-getter.
He can also help with their poor spacing as a guy who can spread the floor and knock down shots from way beyond the arc.
He’s always been a streaky shooter, so he can go ice-cold as fast as he gets red-hot, but he’ll continue to shoot with the same utmost confidence every single time he gets a chance.
