The Charlotte Hornets haven’t made the playoffs since the 2015-16 NBA season.
As a result, the Hornets have earned several opportunities to draft talented prospects in the NBA Draft.
Keeping that in mind, the Hornets drafted Brandon Miller with the number two overall pick in the 2023 NBA Draft.
While Miller is a talented player, many believe that the Hornets made a mistake by picking him so high in the draft.
However, Miller is proving his doubters wrong with each passing game in his rookie season.
Miller became the third-fastest rookie in the Hornets’ history to reach 1,000 career points in the league.
.@hornets guard/forward @brandmillerr has reached 1,000 career points in his 60th career game. He is the third-fastest Hornets rookie to reach 1,000 career points behind only Alonzo Mourning (53 games) and Larry Johnson (55 games).#LetsFly35

Miller took 60 games to reach this important milestone.
On the other hand, Alonzo Mourning still holds the record for being the fastest rookie in the Hornets’ history to score 1,000 career points.
He reached the milestone in just 53 games during his rookie season.
Lastly, Larry Johnson was just two games late to the accomplishment as he scored 1,000 career points in 55 games during his rookie year.
Miller is averaging 16.8 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 2.4 assists per game for the Hornets this season.
Unfortunately, Miller’s performance this season is not translating into wins for the franchise.
The Hornets are currently the 13th seed in the Eastern Conference with a 17-50 record this season.
