The NBA world was shocked when the New Orleans Pelicans landed former Portland Trail Blazers star CJ McCollum.
Some wondered if he was being traded to a team that was falling apart and others thought that perhaps he could give them a much-needed boost.
Sure enough, since they acquired McCollum, the Pelicans have gotten a lot better and are currently getting ready to participate in the play-in tournament.
It looks like he has adjusted to life in New Orleans – but has he adjusted to the heat?

The Pelicans Twitter account poked fun at McCollum, who was praising the city and its weather and cuisine a few weeks ago when he arrived.
But this week McCollum was having a hard time with 90 degrees in the first week of April.
“I’m going to need a swimming pool,” McCollum tweeted.
“Life comes at ya fast with that NOLA Heat huh?” the Pels’ Twitter account asked McCollum.
McCollum definitely hopes things get hotter in New Orleans in the weeks and months ahead.
Rebounding Pelicans
When the season began, most people wrote off the Pelicans because they are lacking their lead star, Zion Williamson.
However, they have done better than expected even without their big man.
Part of that is due to McCollum, who has averaged 22.6 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 5.1 assists this season.
Along with Brandon Ingram, Jonas Valanciunas, Jaxson Hayes, and others, the team has proven it has some fight in it still.
However, the chances of the Pelicans going very far in the playoffs are slim.
But if this same core can stay strong next season when Williamson returns, the sky may be the limit.
