A few years ago, the Charlotte Hornets took a chance on LaMelo Ball by drafting the young guard with the No. 3 overall pick in the 2020 NBA Draft, which seemed to pay off quickly as he proved to be an exciting young player with a potentially bright future ahead as the new face of the franchise.
Unfortunately, even though Ball had proven his worth with an All-Star selection, the young guard has become prone to ankle injuries, which has derailed his promising career.
It seems as though Ball goes down with a severe ankle injury every year, which makes it difficult for him to reach his true potential and help lead the Hornets out of the gutter in the Eastern Conference.
This year was no different, with Ball going down earlier in the season, but it seems like he’s making a lot of progress in his attempt to get back on the floor for Charlotte, with the most recent report from Ashley ShahAhmadi of Bally Sports being a positive one regarding Ball’s return, via The Rally.

The fact that Ball is out of the walking boot is a great sign for his recovery, as he is definitely making some progress and might be back on the basketball floor for the Hornets sooner rather than later.
Unfortunately, there’s still no timeline for Ball’s return to the floor, so there’s no telling when he’ll suit up again for the Hornets.
Before going down with the ankle injury, Ball was having a stellar season, and if he can get back to form, the Hornets might be able to make some noise this season.
