The hits just keep on coming for Zion Williamson of the New Orleans Pelicans.
Williamson hasn’t played a single game with his team this year because of an injury to his right foot.
When the team announced the problem, they were hopeful that their star player could return at some point this season.
But the latest report about Williamson suggests that isn’t so.

NOLA.com is saying that Williamson missed a proposed return date for practice back in December.
Additionally, there are now rumors that he may need a second surgery, although nothing has been definitively determined.
Is there any chance of him coming back this season?
Williamson’s Woes
Williamson is a bonafide star and a great number one pick from the NBA Draft.
When healthy, there are few players like him: he averages record-breaking stats like 25.7 points, 7 rebounds, and 3.2 assists a game.
He is a huge difference-maker on the court when he is physically well.
Currently, the Pelicans are doing better than they once were and are actually gunning for a spot in the NBA play-in tournament.
But there is no denying they desperately want Williamson back because he can take them to the next level.
The injuries that have plagued Williamson have been plenty.
It makes many fearful that perhaps he will never be fully healthy and his dreams of being an NBA legend could be dashed.
This latest right foot injury is particularly troublesome because it feels like no matter what Williamson and his team do, nothing gets better.
The chances of him coming back this year are almost completely diminished.
Now fans are just hoping that next season is possible.
