The Indiana Pacers haven’t been relevant in the NBA over the last few years.
But the franchise’s fortunes changed after trading for Tyrese Haliburton last season around the NBA Trade Deadline.
Haliburton has established himself as a legitimate superstar for the organization in less than a season.
So much so that many believe that the Sacramento Kings made a mistake by letting go of Haliburton.
Despite Haliburton’s rise to stardom, the Pacers still pale in comparison to some of the top teams in the Eastern Conference.
Keeping that in mind, NBA insider Adrian Wojnarowski recently reported that the Pacers are in the market to acquire an athletic two-way wing player via Evan Sidery on Twitter.
“They’re not going to lose him in free agency,” Wojnarowski said.
The Pacers are gearing up to aggressively pursue a “big, athletic two-way wing player” to pair alongside Tyrese Haliburton, per @wojespn:
“(The Pacers) are willing to give up picks and assets, because we believe we will be able to re-sign that player. They’re not going to lose… pic.twitter.com/hHkXnqajbe

With the Pacers in the market for a big and athletic two-way wing player, many are worried if the organization will let go of Haliburton.
Well, that’s not the case, as the Pacers are keen to keep Haliburton on the roster for the foreseeable future alongside the potential future teammate of the talented guard.
Haliburton signed a five-year, $260 million supermax contract extension with the Pacers in the offseason.
Many believed that the Pacers overpaid Haliburton.
However, the All-Star guard is averaging 26.9 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 12.1 assists per game for the Pacers this season.
Thanks to Haliburton’s breakout season, the Pacers are currently the fifth seed in the Eastern Conference with a 12-8 record this season.
On top of that, the Pacers also have a chance of winning the inaugural NBA In-Season Tournament as they face the Los Angeles Lakers in the finals tonight in Las Vegas.
