Before the Sacramento Kings traded guard Tyrese Haliburton to the Indiana Pacers, the team was thought to have found a gem and a player who could help the team build a winner while playing alongside De’Aaron Fox.
Unfortunately for the Kings, the team wasn’t sold on Haliburton as a second star and decided to go the more proven route by bringing in Domantas Sabonis as that second star next to Fox, which has worked out well thus far.
However, the blockbuster trade has worked out more for the Pacers, with Haliburton quickly turning into a superstar in the making in Indiana, as he is, without a doubt, the team’s undisputed leader while being able to do virtually anything on the basketball floor.
Along with being able to light up the scoreboard and lead this team on a nightly basis, Haliburton’s passing is perhaps his best attribute as he approaches a milestone, which he’ll share with select company at the point guard position.
According to Stathead, Haliburton is currently on the path to becoming only the sixth player in NBA history to average 12 assists per game, joining John Stockton, Magic Johnson, Kevin Johnson, Isiah Thomas, and Kevin Porter.

That’s an impressive feat, to say the least, as Haliburton continues to exceed expectations with the Pacers while turning the team into a legitimate force to be reckoned with in the Eastern Conference.
With Haliburton playing at an extremely high level ever since he got to Indiana, it’ll be interesting to see what he can do moving forward and whether his new partnership with Pascal Siakam will turn out to be a successful one.
