For whatever reason, it seems like NBA fans don’t give Paul George enough credit.
He’s been one of the best two-way players in the league for quite a while now, and he overcame one of the most gruesome injuries this game has ever seen to go back to being an All-Star-caliber player.
Notably, Indiana Pacers fans seem to have mixed opinions about him.
He was the best player they had since the Jermaine O’Neal days, and he propelled them back to contention.
However, given the team’s inability to surround him with elite talent, he wound up leaving.
Even so, Kevin Durant doesn’t want people to forget how much he did for the organization and the fact that he’s undeniably one of the greatest players in franchise history, so he definitely expects some home fans to shower him with love during the All-Star Game (Via Marc J. Spears):
“In Paul George’s case, he wanted to leave so people forget about his time there. He’s a Pacer legend. Pacer great. All-time great in Pacer history. So hopefully they show him some love,” said Durant.

George outgrew a small-market team; it happens.
Perhaps the narrative around him has changed and taken a hit over the past couple of years because he’s agreed to take a step back to team up with other stars.
He was an MVP-caliber player when he played for the Oklahoma City Thunder alongside Russell Westbrook, and he’s now embraced a secondary role behind Kawhi Leonard for the Los Angeles Clippers.
Still, healthy Paul George is undeniably one of the best players in the league, which is remarkable after the major injury he had to overcome, and it’s about time people start giving him his flowers.
