Durant is one of the greatest — if not the greatest — pure scorers in the history of this beautiful game.
So, watching him top a legend like Dominique Wilkins in the league’s all-time scoring list was far from a surprise.
Even Nique himself wasn’t shocked or bothered at all.
Instead, he explained what makes the two-time NBA champion so special:
“What goes into being a great scorer? Well, it’s a lot of components,” Wilkins said of Durant. “You know, it starts very early, but it’s also about how hard you work. The work you put in, that’s going to determine what you get out of it. That’s where it starts in being a great scorer, and that’s an unbelievable amount of confidence. A guy with unbelievable confidence in his game. He’s almost seven foot, for one. And he has one of probably the prettiest jump shots in the history of this league. He does it at his pace. He’s a guy that you can’t speed him up. You can’t make him play out of his comfort zone because he’s so gifted offensively. He stacks up with the greatest scorers to ever play this game. It’s as simple as that.”
Durant is the ultimate cheat code.
He can pull up over every single defender on Earth, put the ball on the floor and drive to the rim, or even create for others.
So, even though he may not be much of a fan favorite nowadays, we should all just enjoy the privilege of watching him cook rivals on the floor.NEXT: Kyrie Irving Comments On Kevin Durant's Injury
