The Brooklyn Nets and Ben Simmons cannot catch a break right now.
Simmons’ career has been hampered by multiple injuries, and he can’t seem to shake off his woes.
According to Ian Begley of SNY, the Nets just announced that he’s going to be out for the remainder of the season as he consults with specialists and pursues alternative treatment options for the nerve impingement in his lower back.

Simmons has only been able to make 15 appearances this season, averaging 6.1 points, 5.7 assists, and 7.9 rebounds.
He looked sharp in his return and posted back-to-back double-doubles earlier in the campaign, but once again, he had to be sidelined with injury.
Ailments have been a part of the former No. 1 pick’s career.
He missed his rookie season with an injured foot and sat out the 2021-22 season with an injured back.
Once an All-Star and Defensive Player of the Year candidate, it now remains to be seen if Simmons will ever be able to resume his career without these woes.
He’s still young, and the physical traits and talent are most definitely there, even if he never took the next step as a shooter and has been passive when attacking the rim.
As for his trade value, it’s pretty much non-existent, and the Nets would most likely have to give up valuable assets just to offload his big contract off their books.
