The Brooklyn Nets are the hottest team in the NBA right now.
But as it’s usually happened when things start going well for them, that hot streak may not last for much longer.
MVP candidate Kevin Durant had to leave the game vs. the Miami Heat after suffering a knee injury.
And even though they still managed to hold their own in the fourth quarter and win the game, his health and any potential absences will be a big concern.
Even so, Kyrie Irving isn’t thinking about excuses:
“We don’t have any time for any excuses,” Irving said. “We just have to keep moving forward.”
Kyrie when asked about KD potentially missing time:
"We don't have any time for any excuses. We just have to keep moving forward."

“He’s in good spirits as we all are,” Irving added. “The strength of our team is us picking each other up. Just being ready for whatever’s thrown at us. I think one of the greatest qualities of our team is our bench and the way we support each other, despite who’s in the lineup. And now it’s time to go out and exemplify that until we find out the timeline with K and when he could be available again. So we just got to be mature about it.”
The Nets are 15-1 in their past 16 games and have climbed all the way to the second spot in the Eastern Conference.
They will go as far as Kevin Durant can take them, so they will be extremely cautious with him going forward, even if that means having him on the sidelines for the next couple of weeks.
