The Brooklyn Nets’ season hasn’t gone as well as many expected coming into the year.
They currently hold a 21-33 record, which is the 11th-best in the Eastern Conference.
While there is still plenty of time for them to turn things around, many fans and analysts are concerned that, if the team keeps heading down this path, they will be in the market to move many of their top players after the season is over.
One such player is Mikal Bridges, who has been a staple of this team since he was traded in the Kevin Durant deal.
Despite being on the team for less than two years, Bridges recently indicated that he doesn’t intend to leave.
According to Bridges via reporter Erik Slater, “I wasn’t raised when things get tough to wanna get out.”
Mikal Bridges on remaining with the Nets long-term:
“I wasn’t raised when things get tough to wanna get out… A lot of people might think about different teams… I got my boys over in New York, so obviously everybody goes with that… But I'm here now and I wanna stay here." pic.twitter.com/ZYl39Tp8pB

He also said, “But I’m here now, and I wanna stay here.”
Despite the people saying he should look elsewhere, and that he should cut ties with the Nets, Bridges is confident in this team and doesn’t seem to want to leave.
If that is still the case when the season concludes, the Nets can continue to build their team around Bridges.
With him and their other young pieces, including the likes of Cam Thomas, Cameron Johnson, and Nic Claxton, there’s no telling what this team’s ceiling can be in a few years if they stick together.
