During the first few years of his career in the NBA with the Philadelphia 76ers, guard Ben Simmons was widely considered to be one of the best players in the league, especially on the defensive side of the basketball floor.
Simmons was named an All-Star three straight years during his time with the 76ers while playing alongside fellow star Joel Embiid, who became one of the most lethal duos in the league.
Unfortunately, the partnership between the two stars wasn’t meant to be, with Simmons falling apart in the NBA playoffs and ultimately forcing his way out of town, resulting in a blockbuster trade with the Brooklyn Nets.
Ever since landing with the Nets, Simmons hasn’t been the same player and has dealt with numerous injury issues as he’s only played in 57 games for Brooklyn thus far, which is obviously a massive disappointment for the team.
With Simmons’ career seemingly falling apart and potentially nearing its end in the NBA, Shaquille O’Neal couldn’t help but crack a joke at his expense about who the Hall of Famer would want to buy a ticket to see play on The Big Podcast with Shaq via Legion Hoops.
“Ben Simmons, because I would want to learn how you can make $80 million and play 55 games,” O’Neal said.
Shaq was asked which NBA player he finds entertaining enough to buy a ticket and go watch play.
His response: “Ben Simmons, because I would want to learn how you can make $80M and play 55 games.”

Simmons does not seem capable of resurrecting his career in Brooklyn, so the once-promising young star’s playing career could end in disappointment.
The Nets may decide to cut their losses this summer after the former No. 1 overall pick has not lived up to expectations and doesn’t look like he will in the near future.
