Ben Simmons returned to the Brooklyn Nets on Monday night, putting up 4 points, 6 rebounds, and 3 assists during his 14 minutes off the bench.
Simmons has suffered a number of injuries this season and it’s led to him only participating in 15 games.
But speaking with Erik Slater, via NBACentral, Simmons promised that he’s going to try as hard as he can to help the team again.
“I’m gonna give this team everything I got, regardless of how I feel,” Simmons said.

So far this season, Simmons has averaged 6.1 points, 7.9 rebounds, and 5.7 assists.
That’s a far cry from his rookie year when the former No. 1 overall pick recorded 15.8 points, 8.1 rebounds, and 8.2 assists.
Since that opening season, Simmons’ numbers have steadily declined and injuries have become a much bigger problem.
This is his second season with the Nets but he has only been in 57 games so far since moving over from the Philadelphia 76ers.
Every time he returns from an injury, fans of the Nets are hoping they get a version of Simmons who looks like his former self.
But every time something gets in the way.
Simmons’ statement is proof that he’s going to try his hardest to overcome any physical obstacles that have slowed him down.
That’s a pleasant thought and the right mindset but many are fearful that another injury could be lurking right around the corner.
The Nets are the 11th seed in the Eastern Conference with a 22-35 record.
When he first joined the team, Simmons was viewed as one of the cornerstones of its future.
Now he is a big question mark, but he is telling the fans that he is trying his hardest to play at his best again.
