The Jacksonville Jaguars shocked the NFL by shutting out the Indianapolis Colts in Week 2.
The Jaguars won the game 24-0 and showed much improvement from last season.
After winning only three games in 2021 it is nice to see the Jags with a win already under their belt in Week 2.
One reason for the turnaround is the play of quarterback, Trevor Lawrence.
Lawrence was the first-overall pick in the 2021 NFL draft and had huge expectations entering the league.
After a terrible first season that saw him throw more interceptions than touchdowns, the coaching change in Jacksonville looks to do wonders for this team.
Doug Pederson has taken over as head coach, as the successor to Urban Meyer.
The Meyer NFL experience was a disaster last season and that is a big reason why for the slow development of Lawrence.
But, now Lawrence gets an offensive-minded Super Bowl-winning head coach in Pederson that should help tremendously.
In two games, the second-year QB is completing 68.1% of his throws and has three touchdowns to one interception.

Now the Jaguars head to Los Angeles in Week 3 in what will be a tough test for the young QB.
The Chargers, coming off of 10-days rest, await Lawrence and the Jags.
Also, the Chargers are loaded on defense.
They have top players all across the board including, Khalil Mack, Joey Bosa, J.C. Jackson, and Derwin James.
This is the type of game where we can all find out what the Jaguars are.
Jacksonville rebuilt their offense in the offseason by adding Christian Kirk, Zay Jones, Evan Engram, and welcoming back Travis Etienne.
The weapons and play caller are in place for the Jaguars to make some noise this season.
Abysmal AFC South
The AFC South looks like it might be the worst division in football this season.
That opens the door for the Jaguars to make a run at the division title.
Jacksonville currently sits in first place being the only team in the division with a win.
The Jags also seem to be the only team in the division whose stock is pointing up.
It would not even be bold to say that Lawrence is the best QB in the South.
Matt Ryan and Ryan Tannehill both seem to be washed up and Davis Mills is not as talented as Lawrence.
If the Jags’ defense can hold up, they could make a run at this division crown.
That defense is led by a few key pass rushers in Travon Walker and Josh Allen.
Walker was the first-overall pick in this past draft and he has not disappointed through two games.
They also drafted Devin Lloyd in the first round of this past draft and he leads their team in tackles.

The accumulation of top draft picks over the past few seasons has led the Jags to finally build a quality roster.
The whole worst-to-first idea is somewhat frequent in the NFL.
But, this was the worst team in the NFL last year, not just their division.
So that makes the turnaround even more impressive.
