The Jacksonville Jaguars want to bounce back from a disappointing season.
They made a big move in that direction by retaining OLB Josh Allen with the franchise tag, and they’re now working on their offense.
They continue to try and make a push to retain Calvin Ridley, but they’ve added a strong insurance policy in case their efforts don’t come to fruition.
Signing Gabe Davis was a big move, and according to a report by Henry McKenna of FOX Sports, they beat the Chicago Bears in the race to get him.
Gabe Davis had a similar offer from the Bears but went with the #Jaguars, per a source close to the situation. The Bills couldn't make a competitive offer.
Davis wanted to go back to Florida. He can work with former Bills WRs coach Chad Hall. QB Trevor Lawrence. helps, too.

Apparently, both teams made similar offers, and they both outbid the Buffalo Bills, who are in a tough spot, salary cap-wise.
Davis reportedly wanted to get back to Florida, and he liked the idea of playing with QB Trevor Lawrence and being reunited with former Bills WRs coach, Chad Hall.
While not the biggest name in free agency, he’s a reliable pass-catcher who can line up in multiple spots.
The Jaguars were in control of the AFC South Division before faltering late in the season.
Trevor Lawrence struggled with injuries, and they couldn’t hold onto their divisional title or even make the playoffs.
Now, with guys like CJ Stroud and Anthony Richardson also in the division, it’s become evident that they’re going to have to up their game and bring in as much talent as possible to stay competitive.
Davis, on the other hand, will now likely get a chance to be more involved in the passing game.
