Robert Williams III of the Portland Trail Blazers is a very talented and efficient big man who is capable of great things, but injuries continually get in his way.
This season, his first with the Blazers, was cut short due to season-ending knee surgery that forced him off the court after just six games.
But those six games may have been the only ones he will ever play for Portland.
According to Chris Haynes, via NBACentral, the Blazers are open to trading Williams.
“There are some teams that are pondering making a move for Robert Williams,” Haynes said on the “#thisleague UNCUT” podcast.

For his career, Williams has averaged 7.3 points and 6.9 rebounds per game.
He got his start with the Boston Celtics and spent five seasons there, becoming a vital part of the team’s frontcourt.
Originally a bench player, he ultimately made his way into the starting rotation but was repeatedly sidelined because of injuries.
During his final season with the Celtics, he only played in 35 games.
When he was sent to the Blazers last summer, people were hoping that Williams was about to start a brand new, healthy chapter in his career.
Instead, knee problems popped back up and Williams wasn’t able to make an impact on the team.
Williams is only 26 years old which means that if he can stay healthy he might still have many more years left in the NBA.
Any team that thinks about signing Williams will have to think long and hard about the upsides and downsides of acquiring him.
There are several teams in need of the strong, powerful presence of a young center.
Who will take a chance on reviving Williams’ career?
