The Portland Trail Blazers acquired Malcolm Brogdon, knowing that he likely wouldn’t finish the season in Rip City.
Brogdon is a proven veteran with a track record in this league, and it would be just a matter of time before a team made just the right offer to get him.
Unsurprisingly, with the trade deadline closing in, that time is coming.
According to NBA insider Sam Amico, the New York Knicks, Minnesota Timberwolves, Houston Rockets, and Los Angeles Lakers are monitoring the former Rookie of the Year (via NBA Central).

Brogdon’s skill set could come in handy for most teams looking to add depth to their backcourt.
He can play on and off the ball, start or come off the bench, and he plays hard on both ends.
Brogdon is a lanky point guard with long arms who can hold his own on defense and make the most of his length to switch onto bigger guards and even some forwards.
He can also be a spot-up shooter if need be or put the rock on the floor and create for others.
While not a star, he’s an intelligent player who’ll play mistake-free basketball while being an efficient three-level scorer.
Then again, he does come with some injury and durability concerns, which might be the only thing that could drag down his trade value.
Still, with so many suitors trying to acquire his services ahead of the second half of the season, it wouldn’t be shocking to see the Blazers get at least a high first-round pick for his services.
