The 2023-24 NBA regular season has not been kind to the rebuilding Portland Trail Blazers, with the team dealing with multiple injuries to key players all over the roster.
The first injury hit immediately, with Anfernee Simons dealing with a thumb injury that required surgery and, as a result, him being sidelined for at least a month-and-a-half.
As if that wasn’t a big enough hit to what the Blazers are trying to do in the post-Damian Lillard era in Portland, the team recently lost center Robert Williams III to season-ending knee surgery, which is obviously a costly blow to the frontcourt.
Along with those two costly injuries, the Blazers must now deal with their new leader being out for at least the next two weeks, with rookie point guard Scoot Henderson going down with an injury.
According to Shams Charania of The Athletic, Henderson has been diagnosed with an ankle sprain that has a bone bruise, via The Rally.
"I'm told he's [Scoot Henderson] going to be out at least the next two weeks."

Even though the Blazers aren’t playing for much this season, as the team has zero expectations right now due to the roster overhaul, losing Henderson even for a short amount of time hurts because he hasn’t been playing that well to start his NBA career.
Henderson needs as much time on the floor as possible to help lead this team into the future, with the team going all-in on this young star on the rise.
With Henderson dealing with this injury, the team will likely turn to veteran guard Malcolm Brogdon to shoulder the load moving forward.
