The Portland Trail Blazers kicked off their rebuild with a new point guard.
Scoot Henderson looked like a can’t-miss talent, dominating in the G-League and even holding his own vs. Victor Wembanyama in some exhibition games.
However, he has struggled mightily in his first season in the league, and some are starting to question whether he’s franchise-player material.
According to Legion Hoops, Henderson even made infamous NBA history during their blowout loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder, posting the second-worst plus-minus in NBA history (-56).

Granted, it wasn’t a normal game, as it’s not usual to see a team losing by 62 points.
The Blazers are a flawed team and are a ways away from being competitive, but they’re not as bad to lose by 60+; it happens.
Then again, Henderson has yet to find his stride.
His shot isn’t falling, he’s not being efficient, he’s forcing things on offense, and his defense is still a work in progress.
He’s always been lauded for his relentless work ethic and he’s vowed to prove the doubters wrong, constantly stating that he was the best player in his class and that he’s going to demonstrate it.
That hasn’t been the case thus far, and he looks more like Emmanuel Mudiay than Ja Morant at this point.
Then again, he’s still young and hasn’t even been in the league for a full season, and it’s not wise to count out a player after just half a season, as some rookies need more time to find their stride and prove what they’re capable of.
