Thunder Fans Continue To See Great Things In Summer League

Ever since being selected as the number two pick in the NBA Draft, Chet Holmgren of the Oklahoma City Thunder has been getting an awful lot of attention.

You can’t blame people for being interested: if the 7-foot-1 rookie is about to defend like he should but also shoot like he could then he would be supremely special and perhaps one of the best draft picks in ages.

There has also been a lot of interest about how Holmgren would fit into the Thunder’s rotation and already-established squad of young, talented up-and-comers.

So far, fans are liking what they see.

Holmgren has already found a natural and impressive chemistry with OKC wunderkind Josh Giddey.

Take Monday night for example: Holmgren put up 16 points, 10 rebounds, and shot 7-of-10.

As for Giddey, he was right behind Holmgren with 12 points, 7 rebounds, and 8 assists.

This young duo is definitely getting people hyped for the new season: it feels like the sort of pairing that an entire team can be built around.

Dynamic Duo

You wouldn’t necessarily expect so much from these two incredibly tall, razor-thin guys.

They might look like they wouldn’t be much of a threat on the floor with their skinny frames but they are proving that they can command the floor fearlessly.

More than anything, Holmgren and Giddey seem to like playing with one another.

Maybe it’s because their play styles are similar or maybe they just have personality that work well together but these two guys are loving every second with one another on the court.

That bodes very well for the upcoming season.

It doesn’t guarantee that the Thunder will be truly competitive – there is still a lot to be done before that’s true – but they will definitely be fun to watch if Holmgren and Giddey keep playing like this.
