The Oklahoma City Thunder are way ahead of schedule.
This team wasn’t supposed to be this good this early, yet here they are.
Sam Presti and Mark Daigneault deserve all the credit in the world for putting this team together.
Not only are they extremely athletic and talented, but they also seem to have the right mindset, approach, and work ethic.
That’s what impresses former NBA champion Kendrick Perkins the most.
Following their road win over the Phoenix Suns, Perkins took to Twitter to praise this team for having “old souls” and for spending a lot of time watching film.
The OKC Thunder spends a lot of time in that film room… and they may be young but they’ve got old souls. Man these young boys be hoopin!!! Carry the hell on…

That’s evident, as they don’t usually play the same way night in and night out; they’re able to adjust whenever they’re facing a legitimate championship contender, such as the Suns.
On top of that, this team has proven to be able to make in-game adjustments and excel in execution.
They can crash the glass and make the most of their size and athleticism to get everything they want in the paint, or they can make it rain from beyond the arc.
They have multiple ball-handlers, and they’re also quite switchable on defense because of their lateral quickness.
The Thunder are currently the No. 1 seed in the Western Conference, and it’s not a fluke at this point.
Perhaps they’re not ready to go all the way just yet, but it may not take long before we see this team back in the NBA Finals.
