Shai Gilgeous-Alexander had a wonderful showing during Sunday night’s All-Star Game.
The Oklahoma City Thunder star and potential MVP winner scored 31 points during his 28 minutes on the floor.
Gilgeous-Alexander was born in Toronto and has been talked about as perhaps the greatest Canadian basketball player of all time.
But he believes that there is another icon of the league who reigns supreme.
According to NBACentral, Gilgeous-Alexander claims that Steve Nash is the greatest Canadian player of all time.
“Steve is still ahead of me. I’m going to try to catch him, but he’s still ahead of me,” Gilgeous-Alexander said.

Catching up with Nash is a tall order because the Canadian star did a lot during his 18 years in the NBA.
He was an eight-time All-Star, a five-time assist champion, two-time MVP, and is a member of the Hall of Fame and the NBA 75th Anniversary Team.
So far, Gilgeous-Alexander has been in the All-Star Game twice and has been a member of the All-NBA and All-Rookie teams.
But he is just 25 years old and there is a very good chance that he has a lot of great milestones ahead of him.
Perhaps more importantly, he might be able to do what Nash never could: win a championship.
The Thunder are currently the second-best team in the West with a 37-17 record.
The conference is very competitive and deep but the Thunder have been great since the start of the season and there is reason to believe that they can keep it up.
At the center of it all is Gilgeous-Alexander, who is a great team leader and a wonderful offensive threat.
Some NBA fans got their first taste of his talents on Sunday night during the All-Star Game but Thunder fans have known of his greatness for years now.
He is making the Thunder, the league, and Canada very proud this year.
