The Oklahoma City Thunder have remained a top-notch team in the Western Conference during the 2023-24 NBA season.
Although the Thunder have multiple talented players, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is undoubtedly the best player on the roster right now.
Gilgeous-Alexander possesses an incredible scoring prowess.
He has used his talent to lead the Thunder to multiple victories this season.
So much so that he has surpassed Kevin Durant’s Thunder record for scoring the most 30-point games in a single season after his performance against the Indiana Pacers.
The 2x NBA All-Star shared his honest thoughts on breaking Durant’s record after the game, via Rylan Stiles.
“It’s cool, it’s an honor,” Gilgeous-Alexander said.
I asked Shai Gilgeous-Alexander about breaking Kevin Durant’s record for 30 point games in a single season he called it “a blessing” pic.twitter.com/LTvESKYwKt

Gilgeous-Alexander described the memorable night as a “blessing” for him.
He now has 48 games of scoring at least 30 points in the regular season.
While Gilgeous-Alexander is usually a beloved star in the NBA, many were disappointed by the way he reached the milestone.
The Thunder guard deliberately fouled the Pacers during the dying seconds of the game to get a chance at reaching 30 points.
Considering the Thunder had already lost the game, it was undoubtedly a selfish act by the 25-year-old.
Shai played 37 minutes against the Pacers and finished the night with 30 points, 10 rebounds, and 5 assists.
Individually, it was a memorable night for Gilgeous-Alexander, but the Thunder still suffered a defeat vs. the Pacers.
The organization is still the number one seed in the Western Conference.
However, they are now tied with the Denver Nuggets for the best record in the West right now, as they are 45-20.
