Chet Holmgren of the Oklahoma City Thunder is already creating a lot of buzz and making many fans after just a few games in the NBA Summer League.

Only weeks after being selected as the number two pick in the draft, Holmgren is a central part of his team and has garnered a whole lot of attention.

He has been scoring double-digits and stopping shots, getting rebounds, and making life difficult for all of his opponents.

Chet Holmgren has 3 blocks in 2 minutes.

Legit rim protector already at 195 pounds… what's he gonna look like at 215 pounds?

Yet, he is still just scratching the surface of his potential.

As Brandon Rahbar points out, Holmgren is not a big man: he is currently just 195 points at 7-foot-1.

Yet, even with that razor-thin size, he scored three blocks in just two minutes.

“Legit rim protector already at 195 pounds,” Rahbar said.

“What’s he gonna look like at 215 pounds?”

Rahbar is onto something here: when Holmgren is bigger and stronger he will be even more dangerous and troublesome for the rest of the NBA.

Holmgren Hulking Out

Throughout the history of the league, there have been many instances of players bulking up and getting bigger after a few years in the NBA.

Take Giannis Antetokounmpo or Kevin Durant for example.

When you look back on how they were built when they entered the league, it looks very different from the physical form they’d later take.

Holmgren is still a kid – he’s just 20 years old – and he hasn’t been going up against some of the superstars who populate the NBA.

Give him a few months butting heads with LeBron James, Joel Embiid, Nikola Jokic, and others.

He will soon learn how some physicality can help him.

Don’t be surprised if he hits the gym hard, does some weight training, and adds a lot of bulk to his build.
