The Portland Trail Blazers saw their best and brightest player, Damian Lillard, go down during their Saturday night game against the Utah Jazz.
There were worries that the star would face a lot of time off due to whatever injury was bothering him.
Even with the strong roster, the team still wants and needs Lillard to be playing well.
Now a bit more light is shining on his condition and what’s next for him.

Lillard has suffered a Grade 1 strain of the soleus muscle in his right lower leg.
That means that he will be re-evaluated in 1-2 weeks.
It is important to note that this injury is in a different spot compared to the right calf sprain that he suffered earlier in the season.
The Blazers will have to prove they have what it takes to thrive without Lillard – again.
Losing Lillard
The Blazers could be losing Lillard for around 8 games due to this latest injury.
This means he might be suiting back up with his team on December 4 when they take on the Indiana Pacers.
But until then, the Blazers are going to be facing some tough competition without Dame DOLLA.
For example, they are about to start a four-game road trip.
They are set to take on the Milwaukee Bucks on Monday night, followed by the Cleveland Cavaliers later in the week, as well as the New York Knicks and Brooklyn Nets.
They will face off against both Los Angeles-based teams next week, as well as the Utah Jazz before they are squaring off with the Pacers.
So far this season, Lillard has averaged 26.3 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 7 assists.
The rest of the team – filled with its youthful and exciting players – will need to step up until he can join them again.
