It just doesn’t stop with the Brooklyn Nets these days.
The team was entering the season with a lot of controversy and speculation and then they took things to a whole other level within the last few days.
The latest controversy around Kyrie Irving, as well as the firing of head coach Steve Nash, has catapulted the Nets back into the limelight for the wrong reasons.
But they might be working on something behind the scenes that will create even more major headlines.
The Brooklyn Nets had been in ‘cursory talks’ with one Western Conference team about a deal that would return a veteran shooter and Ben Simmons' name came up in those talks 👀👀👀

Inside reporting says that the Nets have been in “cursory talks” with one Western Conference team about a deal that would return a veteran shooter to the team.
And apparently, Ben Simmons‘ name has been a part of those talks.
We don’t know how intense or real these talks will get but there is a possiblity – perhaps a small one – that the Nets are kicking around the idea of trading Simmons away.
What are the chances that this happens?
And is it the right move for the Nets?
Simmons Saying Goodbye?
Simmons has not been at the level wanted so far in the 2022-23 season.
The guard has averaged 6.2 points, 6.5 rebounds, and 7.3 assists a game.
Those aren’t awful numbers but when compared to his career average of 15.7 points, 8 rebounds, and 7.7 assists, they aren’t that impressive.
Plus, Simmons has been injured and seen a lot of foul trouble during the opening of the season, limiting his time on the floor.
All eyes are on this latest rumor and people are speculating about who the veteran shooter from the West could be – maybe Jae Crowder?
This deal might not ever come together but if the Nets are even entertaining the idea of trading Simmons then his days in Brooklyn may be coming to a close soon.
