The Baltimore Ravens have struggled to keep their running backs on the field.
That’s why it’s not a surprise to see that keeping bodies in the RB room is one of their top priorities for free agency.
Recently, general manager Eric DeCosta claimed that they will look to bring back veteran RBs Gus Edwards and JK Dobbins (via Around the NFL):
“We’re still talking to Gus. We’ll talk to J.K. — a couple of free agents that we had,” DeCosta said. “We’re hopeful that we can get something done with those guys.”

Edwards has spent his entire career with the Ravens after entering the league as an undrafted free agent.
He’s coming off a career-best season, logging 13 rushing touchdowns on 198 carries for 810 yards.
As for Dobbins, he was a second-round pick in 2020 and has shown glimpses of greatness, but he’s struggled mightily with injuries, playing in just 24 games in three years.
It’s also worth noting that they both missed the 2021 season with major injuries.
The Ravens could also look to pivot and pursue some outside help at running back, as guys like Austin Ekeler, Derrick Henry, Josh Jacobs, Saquon Barkley, D’Andre Swift, and Tony Pollard will all be free agents.
Whatever the case, the Ravens will have to work their magic to make sure to bolster their roster ahead of next season, or at least keep their core guys, as they will have plenty of free agents and not so much free cap space to operate with.
